Asthma and allergies tend to be chronic problems once they develop. It is true that many, but not all individuals experience fewer problems with asthma and allergies during their adolescent years and in their early twenties. However, with a history of childhood asthma, it appears that asthma does not “go away” for most people. Many individuals will redevelop asthma and allergy symptoms as they age. The good news is that there are good treatments available to bring asthma and allergy symptoms under control at any age.
